After several weeks of sun and heat, one must now prepare for sudden weather changes. But in the north of the country it will be warmer this week.

– It came very abruptly and it was quite a fresh size of the shotgun, says Sindre Blakstad who was on his way home from the cabin when the locks of heaven opened over Ulsberg in Trøndelag.
He says that it suddenly thundered heavily and that the temperature dropped around fifteen degrees in a short time.
Together with several other drivers, he drove into the side.
– The shotguns were the size of marbles, the driver says.
The meteorologist on duty at the Meteorological Institute, Martin Granerød, says that there are more people who have to prepare for sudden weather changes.

End of fine weather
In Trøndelag, and Møre og Romsdal, hail and thunderstorms have already announced their arrival. Such unstable weather types will affect large parts of the country in the coming week.
– It gradually looks like the long-term good period we have had is coming to an end, Granerød says.
He reports that the areas of Østafjells during Monday will have the tropical weather replaced with torrential rain. Western Norway south of Stadt will also be characterized by rain showers.
– The precipitation area will hit during Monday afternoon and last until Tuesday or Wednesday, the meteorologist says.
Troms and Finnmark will get a good start to the week, before the cloud cover closes from Tuesday.
– If you want to travel there with the best weather, then you should travel to Nordland. There they get nice weather for a long time, which lasts until around Thursday.

– Take care of the parasol
Granerød says that there are some things one should do to prepare for torrential rain.
– There are often large local variations, and the weather can change quickly. Make sure to clean clogged drains, so the water can drain away, says the meteorologist.
Many in the areas will have great weather until the showers strike.
– With torrential rain, there can be sudden gusts of wind, so you should take care of the parasol, he laughs.
According to the meteorologist, the coming rain showers are also good news.
– The danger of forest fires will go down, and we must be happy about that.

Watch out for cauliflower clouds
The meteorologist also says that a danger warning has been issued for thunderstorms for the area around Helgeland and Saltenfjellet. Thunderstorms can also occur in connection with torrential rain, he says.
– If you are going out into nature, it is important to be prepared and follow the weather around you. One must avoid being the highest point, nor swim, warns Granerød.
It is especially the cloud layer that one should be aware of.
– Thunderstorm clouds look like a very large cauliflower, with a kind of hat on top, which is often darker at the bottom, he says.
