‘The next 2 months are going to be fun, expect tantrums from critics’ » Crypto Insiders

Cardano (ADA) is a project that is occasionally criticized. The network actually went live in 2017, but will still not be fully operational in 2021. Smart contracts are still not there and so it cannot compete with Ethereum (ETH) engage. However, Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson is confident that the coming months are “going to be fun.”

A certain Tanyobro recently criticized Cardano. He expects Cardano to likely clone a “working proof-of-stake chain.” In his tweet he wrote

“Charles Hoskinson will most likely clone another working POS chain and call it an update to $ADA and garnish it with fact-bending statements to make it look like it evolved out of the current github.”

The founder then responded to this tweet. He expects the next two months to be fun, with “meltdowns and tantrums.” Hoskinson is clearly convinced that the smart contracts are coming.

“It’s amazing how delusional some people are. This is the level where Cardano critics are now. The next two months are going to be fun. Expect lots of meltdowns and tantrums…”

On Polymarket you can now even bet whether Cardano will support smart contracts by October 1, 2021. As it stands, a small majority of 53% expect the project not to make it to this launch date.

One of the reasons Cardano may be slow in its development has to do with the fact that the project does everything according to the scientific method. This means that everything is systematically examined with peer reviews and also that everything is thoroughly tested. Still, criticism from the wider crypto community is getting louder.

Cardano’s smart contracts seem to be getting closer and closer. The Alonzo update, the update that will activate smart contracts, is now in the testing phase. Recently, the ushered in the next phase of the testnet. During this phase, more testers are involved in the network.
