TOKYO – Melani Putri/Pearl Rahma Putri compete in rowing in the Leighweight Double Scullsweight Tokyo 2020 Olympics. Unfortunately, Melani/Mutiara were not able to achieve maximum results when competing at Sea Forest Water Way, Tokyo, Sunday (25/7/2021), morning WIB.
Competing with five representatives from other countries, Melani/Mutiara tried their best since the start of the race. However, Melani/Mutiara have not been able to achieve maximum results.
Melani/Mutiara touched the finish line with a time of 8 minutes 3.19 seconds. The record at that time only put the Indonesian pair in sixth position.
Melani/Pearl are 41.94 seconds apart from representatives of the United States, Reckford Mary/Michelle Sechser. After the representatives of the United States, there was Ina Nkulina/Alena Furman from Belarus in second place with a time of 7 minutes 26.99 seconds.

Meanwhile, the host’s representative, Chiaki Tomita/Ayami Oishi, took third place. They recorded a time of 7 minutes 34.45 seconds to touch the finish line.
Tomita/Oishi were followed by Argentina’s Milka Kraljev/ Evelyn Maricel Silvestro who recorded a time of 7 minutes 39.53 seconds. Furthermore, the fifth position belongs to the representative of Tunisia, Nou Elhouda Ettaieb / Khadija Krimi, with a time of 7 minutes 54.95 seconds.
With the results of this repechange alias replay, Melani/Mutiara certainly failed to penetrate the semifinals. Because Melani/Mutiara had previously failed in the preliminary round because they only finished in sixth position. For your information, the preliminary round took place yesterday, Saturday 24 July 2021.
Even so, this result is not too surprising. This is because Melani/Mutiara is participating in the Olympics for the first time. According to the Deputy Chairperson of PB PODSI, Budiman, Melani/Mutiara appeared at the Olympics to gain experience.
After the Olympics, Budiman said Melani/Mutiara were prepared to face the 2021 Vietnam SEA Games, which were postponed to 2022 and the 2022 Asian Games in China.
