Ecuadorian Richard Carapaz won the Tokyo Olympic Games Men’s Cycling Road Race. Carapaz, who completed the 234-kilometer course in the first place with a time of 6:05:26, won the gold medal.
Belgian cyclist Wout van Aert finished second with a time of 6:06:33, while Slovenian cyclist Tadej Pogacar won the bronze medal.

Richard Carapaz became the second gold medalist for Ecuador in Olympic history with the gold medal he won in the men’s road race.
At the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, Jefferson Perez became the first person to win a gold medal for Ecuador in the 20 km walking event. On the other hand, Onur Balkan and Ahmet Örken, who represented Turkey in the road race, could not complete the race.
