Traffic between Thionville and Luxembourg has been completely interrupted in both directions since Saturday evening around 8 p.m.
“Due to unfavorable weather conditions and heavy rains, traffic on line 90 (Luxembourg – Bettembourg – Thionville) is interrupted in both directions. Following the flooding of the relay station in Bettembourg, the CFL are providing a service substitute bus service in both directions between Luxembourg and Thionville. The stops served are Luxembourg, Bettembourg and Thionville. ” announces the Luxembourg National Railway Company
Already flooded on July 14
The switch post at Bettembourg station had already been flooded by bad weather on July 14, leaving border crossers without the possibility of going to and from work other than by road.
On the French side, the SNCF also confirms: “that due to heavy rains, the railway installations are flooded in Bettembourg with the consequence of the total interruption of rail traffic between Thionville and Luxembourg. The resumption is not possible before Monday in the daytime.”
Coach rotations are set up between Thionville and Luxembourg. SNCF invites its customers to get information via the usual web and telephone information channels.

In Luxembourg station, the departure of substitute buses is from platforms 101/102 of the bus station.
