Supporting Government Programs, Jasindo Launches PROTAN

Jasindo launches the PROTAN application to support government programs.

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA — Insurance Jasindo launch PROTAN application or agricultural protection as a form of commitment to support government programs. The launch of the PROTAN application is Jasindo’s effort to continue to innovate to maximize the use of technological developments to facilitate service delivery to the community.

“The newest digital product launched in 2021 is the PROTAN (Agricultural Protection) Application. This application is an improvement from the SIAP (Agricultural Insurance System) application which has been present since 2019. These two applications are a form of Jasindo Insurance’s commitment to support government programs,” said the Corporate Secretary Jasindo, Cahyo Adi, in a written statement.

Since 2015, Asuransi Jasindo has been appointed by the government to run the Rice Farmers Business Insurance (AUTP) program. In its development, a Cattle/Buffalo Business Insurance program (AUTSK) was also created. With the launch of a digital application for agricultural protection insurance, it is hoped that the performance of AUTP and AUTSK, which continues to increase every year, will be even better.

This year, the Ministry of Agriculture is targeting 1 million hectares of land registered in the Rice Farming Business Insurance (AUTP) program and 120,000 head of cattle registered in the Cattle or Buffalo Business Insurance (AUTS/K).

“The presence of the application is certainly expected to make it easier for farmers and breeders. The registration process to claim can be through the application. In this application there are features for participant registration, e-policy, premium payment, and reporting,” he said.

The premium that must be paid by farmers is also very affordable, only Rp. 36 thousand per hectare, because there is a government subsidy of Rp. 144 thousand. With such a premium, farmers get protection in case of crop failure due to natural disasters or if they are exposed to pests.

“Compensation is given to insurance participants whose rice has passed the age of 10 days, or the extent and area of agricultural damage reaches more than 75 percent. The amount of compensation is Rp. 6 million per hectare per planting season. If it is less or not even a multiple of one hectare, then compensation losses will be calculated proportionally,” explained Cahyo.

For Jasindo Insurance, applications with full features such as Protan and SIAP will store a number of important data related to customers. For example, climate trends and protected areas. Thus, anticipation can be made if there are areas that require higher claims services when compared to other regions.
