A Coruña: La Sagrada Familia demands police presence in the face of an increase in violence | Radio Coruña

The residents of the Sagrada Familia denounce the lack of vigilance in the neighborhood after an increase in violence and a spike in drug sales. They assure that they call the Local Police and that they do not go to the area, they say, due to lack of patrols.

The panorama they describe is tremendous. People continuously in the street drinking alcohol, bottles that later appear thrown in the street and that carry the alarms of the establishment, pedestrians who are prevented from entering their portals or even continuous urine in their cars.

Shops in the area are robbed on a daily basis. A group of residents has submitted a series of signatures in the municipal registry to request police presence and at the moment they have no response.

Mayor Xulio Ferreiro assures that the local police act and that they even perform functions under the jurisdiction of the National Police.
