It is not so scary to have a minority government. This was stated by Maya Manolova in the open introductory part of the meeting between “Stand up. BG! We are coming!” and “There is such a people.” Manolova’s words are in the context of the already stated, and now repeated thesis, that the formation is “against the long arm of GERB and MRF” to interfere in the formation of the new cabinet. The reason for her comment was the decision of Slavi Trifonov’s party to unexpectedly invite BSP and MRF to talks on policies and support for the government, although until then it had condemned them as parties of the status quo.

“None of us wants either GERB or the MRF to participate in the cabinet,” Toshko Yordanov, chairman of the “There is such a people” parliamentary group, told Manolova.

The meeting began with the expression of mutual sympathy and trust on both sides. The parties have agreed that their participation in anti-government protests last summer led to their election as deputies.

Maya Manolova announced that the future cabinet should deal with raising incomes, recalculating pensions, business support. He added that “Stand up. BG! We are coming!” wants the power of the Attorney General to be limited.

The meeting continues behind closed doors. Even today, Toshko Yordanov, Filip Stanev, Ivaylo Valchev and Victoria Vasileva are leading the negotiations on the side of “There is such a people”. Maya Manolova and Nikolay Hadjigenov represented “Stand up. BG! We are coming”.
