He is upset, Knol tells RTL Nieuws. The reporting about the arrested Eindhovenaar hits hard.
Knol’s daughter ordered a similar suicide powder via the internet for less than 15 euros. In February 2018, she used it to end her life. “She took the drug around 3 a.m., and she didn’t die until 11:30.” It’s inhumane, he warns.

Together with his wife, he founded the Ximena’s Vlinder Foundation to make suicide among young people and young adults a topic of discussion. But also to warn against suicide powder and to argue for a ban. “It’s such a horrible drug,” Knol says.
There is currently no ban on the drug, nor is there a ban on its sale. It is illegal to assist in suicide.

Knol is shocked by the numbers mentioned by the Public Prosecution Service. Hundreds of people are said to have bought a suicide drug from Alex S. and at least six people have died from the powder. He wonders why people are selling this drug. “Why would anyone want to make money on human lives?”
‘Inhumane, slow and painful’
Since the death of his daughter, he has been committed to preventing more deaths from the drug. “We urge anyone who has purchased this drug not to use it. Its use is inhumane, slow and painful. Please take it to a pharmacy for destruction,” warns Randy.
He is calling for a ban. “We’ve done a lot of research on the drug on behalf of the foundation, and it’s horrific.”
