TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Two smartphone giants, Samsung and Apple, will unveil their new phones this year. Samsung will launch the Galaxy Z Flip3 5G and Z Fold3 5G foldable phones on August 3, 2021, and Apple for iPhone 13 in September.
Bocoran kali ini datang dari Max Weinbach untuk rencana seri terbaru dari Samsung. Kedua ponsel lipat itu dikabarkan sudah mendapatkan sertifikasi IPX8 yang membuat perangkat tahan air dan mampu bertahan di kedalaman air lebih dari satu meter selama lebih dari 30 menit.
Jika benar, dan terlihat seperti itu, keduanya akan menjadi perangkat lipat kedap air pertama di dunia. Namun debu juga bisa menjadi kutukan bagi perangkat yang dapat dilipat, khususnya pada bagian engsel, sehingga terbukti lebih penting bagi mereka untuk memiliki perlindungan debu, daripada air.
Ponsel lipat memiliki layar fleksibel dan engsel yang keduanya bergerak dan membuat penyegelan perangkat lebih sulit daripada ponsel biasa. Namun, menambahkan perlindungan air tetap sangat mengesankan di pihak Samsung.
Meanwhile, from the technology giant headquartered in Cupertino, United States, an analyst at Wedbush claims that all iPhone 13 models will later have LiDAR and Pro models will be available with up to 1 TB of storage. That claim is different from the analysts’ reports TrendForce which mentions the LiDAR sensor is only available for the two Pro models and up to 512GB of storage.
Wedbush analysts have overseen supply chains in Asia and reaffirmed the brand’s initial claim, LiDAR on all models, a 1 TB option on the iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max. This may mean that the lower storage options (128 GB and 256 GB) will also be doubled.

Analysts expect generation iPhone 13 match or exceed the current 12th generation in terms of sales. The supply chain is targeting 90-100 million units, compared to 80 million for the current model, meaning about a 15 percent year-over-year increase.
