He thanks all the coaches and the support staff he has had in Vålerenga and sends a special thank you to the fans:
– Dear Clan. Without you we are nothing. Neither I as a player, nor Vålerenga as a club, says Dønnum choked with tears.
Watch the whole video:
Dønnum has been connected to the Belgian top club for a long time, and was not in the Vålerenga squad as against another Belgian team, Gent, in Thursday’s Conference League qualification.
In the presentation video that Standard Liège has posted on Twitter, it is seen that the former Vålerenga player gets suit number 11 in his new club.
– Aron is one of the best players I have trained, and with the season he had last year and not least this year, he is too good for the Eliteserien. Then he is sold, and it is fantastic of Aron to leave so much money in Vålerenga. He shows love for the club, says Fagermo to the club’s website.
The Eidsvold boy has become one of the Elite Series’ biggest profiles, much because of his dribbling skills on the court, but also because of an eccentric style outside it:
He has previously been open about the desire for a foreign adventure. Most recently two weeks ago, he said VG that he belongs in a better league.
– If there is a good offer, I will of course leave. It has been happening several times, but the Eliteserien is not seen as a very good league. That’s why I feel I have to go out. I am good enough, and belong in a better league, said Dønnum before the match against Lillestrøm.
Then he was back after three weeks on the sidelines. The winger came in and delivered two goals in the second half. Also against Haugesund this weekend, he made his mark on the scoring list. It was his last match for the club he has been in since he was 13 years old.
