Munich (dpa / lby) – Storms could lead to heavy rains again in parts of Bavaria at the weekend – and thus cause the water in the rivers to rise again. However, the weather situation is far from the last one, for example in Berchtesgadener Land, said a spokesman for the German Weather Service (DWD) on Friday. There had been severe flooding there last weekend.
However, according to the DWD meteorologist, there may be occasional heavy thunderstorms and heavy rain across Bavaria on Saturday afternoons. 25 to 40 liters of rain are possible within an hour, he said. However, it is difficult to predict where exactly it will rain heavily. The reason is warm, humid air that comes to Bavaria.
In the night of Sunday, the risk of storms should then increase again – especially in the Danube area and south of the river, said the meteorologist. However, more precise information is difficult here as well. The risk of storms is high across Bavaria on Sunday.
In the night on Sunday it should cool down to 14 degrees in some regions. In the course of the day, however, it could be up to 28 degrees again on Sunday. The DWD then also expects a lot of clouds.
Because of floods, the city of Munich had last imposed a boating ban on the Isar – the ban was lifted on Friday.
