German pharmacies no longer issue covid passports

The German daily managed to “gain the access of a fictitious pharmacy owner to the DAV server” with the help of professionally forged documents “and thus generate two vaccination certificates. Handelsblatt stated that it was correct that the letter had discovered a serious security gap in the issuance of digital certificates. The daily did not gain access to the system itself, but two computer experts, who showed that the portal has significant shortcomings, the Handelsblatt publishing house emphasized.

According to the DAV, it is not clear when pharmacies will be able to issue certificates again. However, the association is convinced that all more than 25 million certificates issued so far come from legally registered pharmacies.
