From this Monday, those interested can download the application and sign up for the new social network HalloApp. It is backed by two former WhatsApp employees, which was largely reflected in their new project. As with the communication application, the registration is tied to a telephone number.

On the official blog, the authors describe HalloApp as “the first network for real relationships”. The application is designed for group or individual chats with close friends and family. The only way you can find other users is through their phone number. The messages are encrypted and the positive is the fact that there are no ads at all.
This project is interesting mainly for its founders. Until 2018, Neeraj Arora was the sales director of WhatsApp and a key figure in the negotiations with Facebook. Michael Donohue was CTO of WhatsApp for almost nine years and left Facebook in 2019.
