Celebrating the eighth anniversary of Latvijas Radio 5 – Pieci.lv, on Friday, July 23, from From 13.00 to 23.00 there will be a radio festival of the station, during which there will be a live broadcast from the culture and entertainment center “Hanzas Perons” with performances by musicians Roland Ch, Aivo Oska, Elizabete Gaile, KAT, AnnaKrista, “Citi Zēni” and “Sudden Lights”. During the day, current conversations about the importance of gardens and plants in the urban environment will also be heard on the air. Live broadcasts of concerts and talks in the form of video will be available on Latvijas Radio 5 – Pieci.lv Facebook page and on the public media portal lsm.lv.
Anyone interested can also attend the garden festival in person free of charge by going to the summer platform of the culture and entertainment center “Hanzas Perons” (Hanzas Street 16a, Riga). In the evening of the event from At 18.00 the area will be demarcated – the entrance to this area will be open to visitors with a valid digital Covid-19 vaccination or disease certificate and identity document.
During the garden festival, the best Latvian new pop music concerts will be mixed with topical talks about the place of plants in the city as an important aspect in improving the quality of life of citizens and preserving biological diversity. Interviews with experts and practitioners will also be heard to find out how to help the city become greener and how to successfully green your private space. At the event, the staff of the radio station together with musicians will create a mobile hollow of Latvijas Radio 5 – Pieci.lv in order to make the starting point of their broadcasting – Riga – greener.
