Pass or not pass? This is the question for many directors of establishments open to the public. Since yesterday, they have been swimming in the dark. The health pass that came into effect yesterday indeed targets events or places receiving more than 50 people. Thus, the Galaxy cinema, in Cognac, the bookstore of the city of comics in Angoulême and many libraries have chosen to reduce their capacity to 49 people to avoid having to scan the vaccination certificate of their audience.
But last night, the Directorate General of Health tightened the screw. “The 50-person gauge, retained as the threshold for applying the health pass in certain establishments open to the public (ERP), is determined according to the reception capacity of this ERP and not according to the actual occupancy of the premises. “, explains the administration in several national media. Clearly, the pass is mandatory from the moment the place can accommodate more than 50 people, regardless if only three visitors came.
Absurd for many professionals. The national federation of cinemas has even stepped up to the plate with Jean Castex, the Prime Minister. For the moment, neither the executive nor the Directorate General of Health has reacted. Most professionals therefore maintain their reduced gauge strategy.
