Guitarist and superstar Eric Clapton (76) refuses to play concerts in rooms that require participants to have proof of completed vaccination.
Clapton will make the news known as a response to the British authorities’ recent decision to require a vaccine pass to gain access to nightclubs and premises, writes The Guardian.
The statement from the “Cocaine” and “Tears In Heaven” star is said to have been shared via the Telegram account of the Italian architect and covid skeptic Robin Monotti, the newspaper writes. Telegram is an encrypted messaging and communication platform.
– I want to say that I do not want to perform on stages where there is discriminated audience present, the artist should have written and added:
– Unless there are opportunities for everyone to participate, I reserve the right to cancel the concert.
In December last year, Clapton released the song “Stand and Deliver”. The song, written by Irishman Van Morrison, was a call against the decline of society in connection with the corona pandemic.
According to the music magazine Rolling Stone Clapton is also said to have expressed his dissatisfaction after receiving the AstraZeneca vaccine in February. The statements fell in May.
– I took the first stab with AZ (AstraZeneca journ.anm.) And immediately received serious reactions that lasted ten days, Clapton stated via Monotti’s Telegram account in February.
– About six weeks later I was offered and took the second dose, but with a little more knowledge of the dangers. Of course, the result was disastrous. My hands and feet were either frozen, numb or burnt, they were mostly useless for two weeks. I was afraid I could play again, the award-winning guitarist will have pronounced.
– The propaganda said the vaccine was safe for everyone, he is said to have stated.
In May, the government decided to follow the recommendation of the National Institute of Public Health and remove AstraZeneca from the Norwegian vaccination program. The background for the decision was several serious cases of fatal side effects.
In Norway, four people died from contracting the rare condition WHITE (vaccine-induced thrombotic thrombocytopenia) – a rare combination with low platelet-triggered platelet counts.
In the USA and England, the vaccine is still used.
