In Biarritz, the future district of Aguilera is taking shape. The design phase of the project by a team of urban architects will last until 2022.
The Aguilera project, located between the Aguilera stadium and the Jai-Alaï, is part of the urban and sports development project of Biarritz (Pyrénées-Atlantiques). The developments planned for this purpose will revolve around the municipality’s objectives in terms of urban development and economic development.
On the sports side, the City is planning the construction of buildings for the Biarritz Olympic training center and the rehabilitation of sports equipment. On the housing side, the new district provides for at least 55% of social housing. The creation of public spaces and services, as well as a parking lot, is also on the program.
From July 21, the Biarrots will be consulted on the construction of the new district. This consultation phase will feed into the studies and adapt the arrangements according to the orientations mentioned during the discussions with the public. Note that the years 2021 and 2022 will be devoted to the design of the project. This will be carried out by a team of town planning architects before the administrative procedures. At the end of the design studies, i.e. during 2022, the production schedule will be specified.
