Political tensions: Rumen Radev starts consultations with parties in parliament on Friday – Elections 2021

Most parties in parliament have an identity problem, according to social anthropologist Haralan Alexandrov. In the morning block of BNT he gave examples with the change in the name of “Stand up.BG! We are coming!” and with others who have changed the previously defended firm positions. He also pointed out that now the so-called protest parties, whose representatives until recently were in the role of protesters, are now in the government, which creates problems for their identity. GERB also has such a problem because it lost at least a little. He also pointed out that the BSP has a great drama, which is in isolation, comparable to that of GERB.

According to him, the important thing is to form a “fairly stable government”.

Beyond that, there are many private, party accounts, hidden affiliations and commitments, there is an identity problem. We are watching the tip of an iceberg, the main part is in the muddy part, there are vortices, he commented.

Sociologist Kolyo Kolev added that there is a softening of the positions defended by the parties and a “blurring” of the former “red lines” with an obvious demonstration of a desire for dialogue. “Which suggests that there will most likely be a government, obviously there will be compromises, dialogue, search for partners,” he added.

Alexandrov commented that the losing GERB is in a very convenient position of the opposition, and its leader Boyko Borissov has returned to what people have forgotten, that he knows very well how to do: “criticize, fight and blow.”
