This week, the WhatsApp started releasing two functions that should make life easier for users. From now on, it is possible to access any group call, even without answering it when the phone rings.

The news was announced by the platform as a way to bring even closer friends and family who are physically distant due to the new coronavirus pandemic.

To check the functionality, the user must update their application and access the “Calls” tab, which will contain the information that the call was lost.

The platform claims that this new function also allows viewing of participants who have been invited but have not joined the call.

“As group calling is gaining in popularity, we are working to improve this experience for our users, always maintaining call security and privacy with end-to-end encryption protection,” says the company.

Another news from WhatsApp is the release of a beta version of the cross-platform function. This new feature allows the user to access the same account on up to four devices autonomously and simultaneously.

The functionality is being released slowly, to a limited number of users, as a form of testing, due to a change in application development.

Currently, the smartphone centralizes all operations, and the other channels – such as the computer version – mirrors the content as an additional device.

With the update, all versions act independently and have autonomy in sending and receiving messages, without depending, for example, on the smartphone’s internet connection.

“Each device will connect to your WhatsApp independently, maintaining the same level of privacy and security through end-to-end encryption that people who use WhatsApp are already well aware of,” guarantees the Facebook subsidiary.
