Sweden has been working for years to combat the growing activity of criminal gangs, which has led to an increase in the use of firearms and the number of murders, with gangs settling accounts.
Sweden currently has the highest per capita murder rate in Europe, according to a report published by the National Crime Prevention Council in May.
In 2020, Sweden, with a population of just over ten million, recorded 360 firearms-related incidents that killed 47 people and injured 117.
