Acting Head of the Karanganyar District Health Office, Purwati, said that the four new cases of death of pregnant women exposed to Covid-19 occurred in hospitals.

“Death rate [ibu hamil] four more cases. Previously five cases. All died in hospital. So he died after receiving treatment at the hospital,” said Purwati, Wednesday (21/7/2021).
Purwati said that the gestational age of pregnant women who died positive for the corona virus varied. He again conveyed that the cause of the death of pregnant women was not only due to exposure to Covid-19. However, the condition of pregnant women itself is already vulnerable.
“Not purely because it was confirmed positive for Covid-19 only. There is another added risk. Pregnant women alone already have risks. That’s why it gets priority for the Covid-19 vaccine. The plan is for August and is currently collecting data on all pregnant women in Karanganyar Regency,” he said.
Registering Pregnant Women for Vaccination
As previously reported, the Karanganyar Health Office is currently registering pregnant women with a gestational age of 14 to 33 weeks. The central government plans to vaccinate pregnant women using the Covid-19 Moderna or Pfizer vaccine.
