Three loans with the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) totaling $ 765 million were ratified in yesterday’s plenary session. All three had already been approved in previous plenaries.
One of the credits, for $ 600 million, was approved in the previous plenary as well as the one for $ 50 million. Both have very similar destinations: to cover the 2021 budget gap, to assume obligations that the State already has and, $ 100 million of the higher amount, will be to pay CETES that were issued for the creation of the Trust for the Economic Recovery of Salvadoran Companies ( FIREMPRESA).
The remaining $ 115 million are to finance the Program for the Construction of Infrastructure and Rescue of Sports Venues at the National Level, which was approved in the first plenary session of this legislature. The first two loans only had the votes of the ruling majority.
