Ibrahima Konate sad at debut with Liverpool

Jakarta

New defender Liverpool Ibrahima Konate marked his debut with sadness. But he didn’t want to get too carried away and started looking at the next party.

Konate made his debut when Liverpool had trials with Wacker Innsbruck and Stuttgart on Tuesday (20/7/2021) night WIB. Each match was played with a tempo of 30 minutes, with the 22-year-old defender playing in the second party.

Of these two games, Liverpool had to settle for a 1-1 draw. Given this is a test match, the focus is undoubtedly more on the formation of the condition of the players than the result.

However Ibrahima Konate quite disappointed that his non-competitive debut was not tinged with victory. Now the player who was recruited for 36 million pounds has turned his focus to the next trial against Mainz, Friday (23/7) which will be attended by the audience.

“Yes, this is a game without fans, but I am very happy to be able to play. Just a little sad, very sad, because we didn’t win. But okay, I’m quite happy,” Konate said. Liverpool Echo.

“Step by step we will improve. This is our first game in pre-season and we are ready for the next game. The next game is good news for everyone, for me (because it was attended by the fans).”

“Of course it’s for the best. We have lived a very long time with the COVID situation which is very bad for everyone in the world and, for a football player, very sad to play without the fans.”

“Now I think this will be a new level with the presence of the fans because I think they will be enthusiastic to be with us. This will be very, very important for us,” added the French player.
