NEW YORK (dpa-AFX) – The stock prices in New York got off to a bad start to the new stock market week on Monday. “Above all, the inflation worries and the Delta variant spoil the mood for investors,” wrote analyst Christian Henke from the trading house IG Market with a view to the corona virus. The summer doldrums make things even more difficult.
Shortly after the start of trading, the Dow Jones lost 1.55 percent to 34,152 points. The market-wide S&P 500 fell 1.22 percent to 4274 points and the technology-heavy Nasdaq 100 fell 0.75 percent to 14 572 points. All three major indices fell below their respective short-term trend lines./bek/he
