Tuesday, July 20, has been declared a day of national mourning. That evening Niels Destadsbader plays a concert in the Ghelamco Arena in Ghent. To support the many victims of the floods, he donates the proceeds of the concert evening in full to the solidarity action of The Red Cross #helpenhelpt.

“Everyone has seen the terrible images and stories. That also lives with us, with the band and the crew. You want to help those in need, but you can do so little yourself,” says the singer.
“For a moment we thought about canceling the evening, out of respect for what happened. Only we would have to disappoint a lot of fans again, for the umpteenth time since corona. Then this seemed like a better way to contribute. It is also a nice thought for the people in the stadium that their money is being used to help others. Because if you experienced something like this yourself, you hope that others would do the same for you.”
