Daughter of Afghan Ambassador Kidnapped and Tortured in Pakistan

ACCEPTANCE – Ministry of Foreign Affairs Afghanistan said that Silsila Alikhil, daughter of the Afghan ambassador to Pakistan Najibullah Alikhil, was kidnapped for several hours and brutally tortured by unknown persons on his way home.

In a statement issued on their official website, Afghanistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that Alikhil had been released from the captivity of the captors and was under medical care at the hospital.

They strongly condemn such heinous acts, expressing deep concern for the safety and security of diplomats, their families, and staff members of the Afghan political and consular missions in Pakistan.

“The daughter of the Afghan Ambassador to Pakistan was kidnapped on Friday and brutally tortured for several hours by unknown persons on the way home,” the Afghan Foreign Ministry said in a statement. TRT World, Sunday (18/7/2021).

The Afghan Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on the Pakistani government to take immediate action to ensure the security of its embassies and consulates as well as the immunity of diplomats and their families in accordance with international treaties and conventions.

“While the Afghan Ministry of Foreign Affairs is following this matter with the Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs, we urge the Pakistani government to identify and bring to justice the perpetrators as quickly as possible,” the statement added.
