Because there was another disturbance of the peace in Hans-Böckler-Strasse on June 7th, 2021, around 1:45 a.m., the municipal enforcement service was supported by police officers from the Ludwigshafen 2 police station. The perpetrators of the disturbance, a 38-year-old and a 46-year-old, immediately showed themselves to be uncooperative. Both seemed drunk. While the personal details of those involved were to be determined, the mood became more and more aggressive. After the 38-year-old physically attacked a police officer, a scuffle broke out in which two police officers, two KVD employees, and the 38-year-old and the 46-year-old were slightly injured. After the situation had calmed down, the 46-year-old agreed to a voluntary breath alcohol test. This resulted in a value of 1.56 per mille. The 38-year-old was taken to a hospital for a medical examination. A blood sample was taken there. The two are now awaiting a criminal complaint for resisting law enforcement officers.
Unfortunately, it happens again and again that employees of the police and the municipal enforcement service are verbally or even physically attacked. We therefore appeal: courtesy and respect are stable pillars of our togetherness. This applies not only in private, but of course also in dealings with all employees in the public service. Anyone who disregards this must expect criminal consequences.
