Warhammer 40,000: Darktide from Swedish Fatshark is delayed until next year

The gloomy darkness of the future will have to wait a while longer.

Another day, another delayed game. This time it’s the Swedish Fatshark’s turn, and the game we will not be able to enjoy until next year Warhammer 40,000: Darktide. Just like theirs before Vermintidegames are about co-op for up to four players, but as the name suggests, it is in the Warhammer 40K world rather than Warhammer Fantasy.

It should have come sometime this year, but via Twitter, the big sharks say they had to make the difficult decision to delay it until the spring of 2022. They point out that they have a responsibility to deliver as good a game as possible, which they need more time to cope. However, they will not only use the extra development time to polish the game, but also spend more time on systems that will help them keep it alive for years to come.

At least on Twitter, opinions seem to be going in the positive direction, with praise for the studio in general and assurances that it is understandable with the current world situation in mind.
