The film is about the friendship of men who have a crisis of middle age. Do you have a midlife crisis?
Was the reason you accepted this role, your friendship with the director?
Can you tell me something more?
Whatever, ask. And I’ll try to tell you something.

You all know each other from DAMU, from the student years, that is, for many years. Did you read the book according to which the film was made and which has been on the market since 2012, before it was released?
I was, I think, even one of the first to read it. I got it unbound, before the last corrections, to give Patrick feedback, I think there were two of us in this position: this is how Patrick’s wife Martina and I read the book. Even then, the book was promising.
–
After Patrick’s last edits, it was already a good book, and now that I’ve been persuading it (for the needs of the audiobook – note. red.) after eleven twelve years, so she felt a little better than then and somehow sadder.
–
Is it related to your age? Are you getting old?
It doesn’t have to do, I believe, with age. It may have to do with having children and softening somehow. But it should have nothing to do with age, some people harden with age.
–
You know the book well, as I found out. Have you seen yourself in the character of Karel from the beginning?
No, no, I think there was even a thought that I was going to play Dot … After all, Karel is a completely different somatotype … That I eventually became him was a kind of Patrick’s thought switch that gave me that Karel gave. This happened when it came to casting the film.

I already went to Karel and Hynek (H. Čermák – note red.) to Dot. But I think if it was just a book, Patrik was thinking about making Dot. I think that – if I’m not mistaken – Dot lives in Bohnice, has such a relationship with my mother …, there are many parallels with my own life.
–
You loaded the audiobook before the movie went to theaters …
And was it originally planned differently?
Look, it was supposed to go at the same time as the premiere (originally planned for December 24, 2020 – note red.). So I should have spoken it a while before, in December. So it was finally finished half a year before the new premiere.

Next to the film, you play in a theater. Specifically in the Shakespearean festivities, in the Winter’s Tale. Don’t you have an autumn fairy tale now? Do you finish performing in the rain?
We finished in Bratislava yesterday, we were lucky. We may not finish next time. That is, if what was here will come there as well. So far we are lucky. But I heard that in the Storm, it really was a storm.
–
Would you invite the audience to Protozo, Shampoo, Dot and Karel to the summer cinema?
Yeah Al that sounds pretty crap to me, Looks like BT aint for me either.
–
Would you see it alone in the rain?
No way! I may not be able to see it today, on the day of the premiere. I’ve seen him before.
