The Pole Maciej Janowski took home the final before second place Emil Sajfutdinov, Russia and the three-time world champion Tai Woffinden, Great Britain in third place.
Lindgren was also washed in the first of five heats in the basic round – but then it went better. The Swede finally finished fourth best and snagged a semifinal spot.
Once there, he reached a second place before the reigning world champion Bartosz Zmarzlik. However, he could not beat Emil Sajfutdinov, who was the best of all even in the qualifiers.
Lindgren finished third in the World Cup series last year.
The next World Cup competition will be run tomorrow, Saturday, in Prague.
