On Saturday, a significant number of people they were left without the vaccine before the change of the Pfizer to AstraZéneca in the afternoon schedule in ExpoCoruña. In the morning those from 50 to 59 were scheduled for the second dose of Pfizer and in the afternoon those who had to be vaccinated with AstraZéneca.
Those who were summoned in the morning but came in the afternoon could not be attended, as explained by the Servizo Galego de Saúde (Sergas), who ask for respect for the scheduled times in the call for mobile message, as does the SATSE nursing union.
SATSE asks citizens for responsibility at the time of going to the appointment that corresponds to them. The regional secretary of the union, Malules Carbajo, recalls that the entire vaccination campaign it is a “complex” process that so far has worked with hardly any problems.
Until now, many people from A Coruña chose to go on the day that corresponded to them but at a time that was not the one set by Sergas without this posing any problem.
Beyond the vaccination campaign, from SATSE they ask Sergas for “consistency” when planning vacations for the nursing staff, “very burned and tired.” Carbajo demands long-term contracts from the Department of Health for the personnel who are hired. Contracts of “at least” one year in duration.
