Emergency PPKM Extended, Entrepreneurs: Making Dying!

Emergency PPKM will be extended until the end of July. This was stated by the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (PMK), Muhadjir Effendy. In response, the entrepreneur said the extension was certainly burdensome and made the company’s cash flow dying.

“And making the cash flow dying, it will definitely make you dizzy thinking about being able to survive,” said the Chairperson of the DKI Jakarta HIPPI DPD (Indigenous Entrepreneurs Association) Sarman Simanjorang, to detikcom, Friday (16/7/2021).

However, Sarman said that he was still waiting for an official announcement from the government regarding the extension of the Emergency PPKM, exactly what date. He hopes that if it is extended, the entrepreneurs will still be strong and will not rationalize in the form of layoffs.

“If, for example, it is only until the end of the month, it means that it is only extended for 10 days from the emergency PPKM deadline set by the government, which is July 20. Of course, if it is until the end of the month, maybe the entrepreneur will start to recalculate the resilience in terms of cash flow. Is it still able to survive until the end of the month? ,” he said.

According to Sarman, the government has no other choice because currently the number of COVID-19 cases in the country has reached 50 thousand cases. Entrepreneurs also have to obey these rules in order to get out of the pandemic.

“We realize that the number of Covid cases is still high at 50 thousand, meaning that the government has no choice but to extend this emergency PPKM. We hope that for as long as Emergency PPKM This is able to control and suppress the rate of COVID-19 cases to the lowest point,” he explained.

He also asked for a stimulus from the government, especially the non-essential and critical sectors, which must be closed for 20 days and will be extended until the end of the month.

“You can imagine that there is no turnover, no profit or income, while operational costs must still be incurred, yes, for MSME players, the cash flow is definitely dying. It means that for one month there is no total income, meaning that income and expenditure are very unbalanced, far out of balance,” he said.
