On Thursday, July 15, 2021, at around 10:50 a.m., officials from the Halle Federal Police Station checked a 23-year-old on platform seven of Halle’s main train station. To establish his identity, the man presented a valid provisional identity card. A comparison of his personal data in the police search system showed that the public prosecutor’s offices in Gera and Leipzig asked for the man’s current residence in three cases. The basis for this is in the past in the area of responsibility of the Gera public prosecutor’s office, creep or fraud and resistance against enforcement officers of the Leipzig public prosecutor’s office. During the voluntary inspection in the German’s shoulder bag, there were various bank and credit cards as well as personal documents that were not made out in the name of the 23-year-old. He was then taken to the federal police station at Halle main station, where the officers instructed the man and initiated an investigation. The requesting public prosecutor’s offices were informed and the officers deployed filed a criminal complaint for embezzlement against the man.
