Man died in drowning accident in Asker

The man was on his way to the water with several others when he was observed lying in the water face down.

– He was dragged ashore, and life-saving first aid was implemented while an ambulance was called. A doctor from the air ambulance, who arrived at the scene, declared that the man had died just before 6.30 pm, says operations manager Per-Ivar Iversen in the Oslo police district to NTB.

Relatives have not been notified of the death, police write.

It was Budstikka who mentioned the accident first. The police were notified at 17.45 on Thursday afternoon.

The accident must have happened on the west side of the water, at the northern end.
