Feyenoord knows its opponent in the second heat of the newly established Conference League. The team from Rotterdam will meet FC Drita from Kosovo on 22 and 29 July. Next week there will be an away game, the return is a week later in De Kuip.
Drita finished second in the national league last season and therefore qualified for the first preliminary round of the Conference League. In it, it settled in two duels with FK Decic from Montenegro. At home it won 2-1, tonight Drita triumphed 1-0.
Three preliminaries
Feyenoord must survive a total of three preliminary rounds to qualify for the group stage of the Conference League. On Saturday, the team of trainer Arne Slot will practice against Werder Bremen.
Last week, ex-trainer Dick Advocaat lashed out at Feyenoord. He believes he is contractually entitled to a bonus for completing European football. Feyenoord thinks otherwise. “Apparently they don’t think this is European football. That will have a tail,” said Advocaat.
