The Head of the blood collection and awareness service at the National Blood Transfusion Center, Hammadi Akkari launched today, Thursday, July 15, 2021 a cry of distress regarding the depletion of the blood reserve, noting that the remaining quantity is sufficient for only two days.
He warned that the center will have to choose who will have priority to receive blood, due to the great shortage of the reserve available in the center, generally considered “exhausted” if the minimum reserve reaches the threshold of 5 days, and according to him , 48 hours is a precedent in the history of Tunisia.
