Philipp Hesse has been the new head coach of the tennis department at TV Oeffingen since May. The focus of the B license holder and family man is on youth work.

Oeffingen – Philipp Hesse has not been an unknown face on the TV Oeffingen tennis facility for a long time. In the past Corona season, he served in the men’s association league team. Since May of this year, he has been the successor to Bogdan Ivascu and has been the head coach of the department, but also continues to play with the flagship men.
It was clear to him very early on that Philipp Hesse, who will turn 32 next Monday, would one day turn his hobby into a profession. Born in Bonn, he spent the first 15 years of his life in Belgium, where his parents ended up because of the jobs. At the age of four he began tennis there and advanced to become a youth selection player. “When I was twelve I was on the court every day and trained,” says Philipp Hesse, whose great role model was Roger Federer early on. Nothing changed about that. “When he plays it always looks aesthetic. He’s also just a nice guy. “
Philipp Hesse spent his childhood in Belgium
Since the Hesse family returned to Germany 15 years ago, Philipp Hesse has lived in Bad Cannstatt – now with his partner Bianca, who was once a dancer in a carnival guard, and for five months with daughter Aurelia. The family offspring was also a reason why the B-license trainer gave up his job at TC Wendlingen / Neckar and instead started at TV Oeffingen. “I was just fed up with all the driving,” says Philipp Hesse, who previously worked for the tennis department of SV Böblingen for six years and also spent many hours in the car. As a TVOe trainer, he can now spend significantly more time with his daughter, especially since he currently only gives training on two mornings. Overall, however, he spends between 30 and 40 hours a week on the tennis court.

With the men from TV Oeffingen, who will play their first home game of the year against TC Lauffen on Sunday, 10 a.m., he definitely wants to stay in class this season – and then in the following summer, at the latest in 2023, a clear one Send a rejuvenated team into the race. “My focus is on youth work,” says Philipp Hesse. That is why the passionate angler (“I can completely switch off and relax”) will also offer a children’s and youth camp in the first and last week of summer vacation.
As a trainer, Philipp Hesse attaches great importance to punctuality and – from a sporting perspective – to technology. If that’s not true, you can’t go very far. He sees his own strengths in serving as well as in the backhand slice. On the other hand, his condition is in need of improvement.
