American actress Hilary Duff (33) gave birth to her daughter Mae James three months ago. The girl was born through a home birth, of which the star now shares touching images on Instagram.

“I feel ready to share some photos of Mae Mae’s birth,” Duff said in a caption. In the images you can see the actress adopting comfortable positions to absorb contractions and sitting on a jumping ball. Her husband is also in a few snaps, supporting her.
“My husband is the calmest in the room when I want to walk up the walls. And Molly is an extraordinary doula, sitting with me when I needed to be quiet. She thought it was really funny that I was on plasmas for dogs because my water had broken hours earlier,” Duff continues.
She also thanks her own mother, who was present at the birth. “The help I got to take care of my other children, when I couldn’t do it myself, was perhaps the most enjoyable aspect. All those helping hands.” Having a child is no fun, but hard work, Duff concludes. “From getting pregnant to caesarean sections, hospital or home births, breastfeeding and raising these little creatures responsibly to become friendly global citizens: it consumes you completely. So cheers, almighty mothers. You move mountains every day.”
Hilary Duff has three children: son Luca Cruz (9) with her Canadian ex Mike Comrie, a former ice hockey player. With her current husband, American musician Matthew Koma, she has two daughters: Banks Violet (2) and Mae James (3 months).
