A YouTuber claims to have figured out how to solve what is known as the “Joy-Con operation” problem: You only need a small piece of cardboard.
The cursor moves on its own
The problem of the marker moving on its own is so widespread that 44 independent consumer organizations from 32 countries have complained to the EU about the “short shelf life of the Nintendo Switch product”.
VK’s Channel has a video called ‘How to Fix Your Joy-Con Drift Permanently’ which shows how they fixed the problem by applying permanent pressure to an area in the Joy-Con.
Gets slack over time
According to the video below (enter 5.55), the solution is to open the Joy-Con and add a small piece of one mm thick paper under the metal housing. The explanation is that the metal housing that holds the joystick becomes a little slack over time. The paper adds pressure and makes things work as before.
