New at Amazon Prime Video: New supplies for “Game Of Thrones” and “Vikings” fans with “House of Money” star – series news

The fantasy over-hit “Game Of Thrones” has been over since 2019. But diligent efforts are still being made to fill the gap that has arisen. With “El Cid”, a potential successor on Amazon Prime Video is now even entering its second season.

Fans of medieval fantasy and history action in series had to say goodbye to two of THE genre highlights of the past few years with the conclusion of “Game Of Thrones” and “Vikings” in 2019 and 2020. However, a wide variety of providers are bringing more and more contenders for possible successors – be it fantasy epics like “The Witcher”, purely historical adventures like “Barbarians” and “Domina” or a mix of both like “Britannia”.

The Spanish Amazon series “El Cid”, which was launched in time for the “Vikings” finals in December 2020 as a replacement, falls into the second category and also has to offer what defines all the titles mentioned so far: opulent battles , Blood and lots of intrigues and intrigues. This is what “El Cid” is all about

The main character of “El Cid” is the later Spanish national hero of the same name (the name is derived from Arabic and means something like “the Lord”), whose real name is Rodrigo “Ruy” Díaz de Vivar. In season 1, Ruy (Jaime Lorente, Denver from the hit series “House of Money”) served the royal family as the new squire of Prince Sancho (Francisco Ortiz) – even though he relied on King Ferdinand (José Luis García Pérez) is not very easy to speak.

After discovering a plot against the king, Ruy is now confronted with murder allegations in season 2 that could cost him his life …
