On the evening of July 14, a solo exhibition of the artist Gundega Dūduma was opened on the top floor of the Kempinski Hotel. It brought together the artist’s regular clients from Latvia, Russia, France and New York, as well as local celebrities and hotel partners.
Among the guests were personalities such as artist Ieva Bondare with Mr. Mārtiņš Bondars, Trentini salon owner couple Agnese and Mareks Nemmes, writer and bestseller author Karīna Račko, Signet Banka shareholder Irīna Pīgozne with her family, as well as former Tet Chairman of the Board Juris Gulbis with Mrs.
Model Cynthia Selicka-Užane with her husband, influencere Viktorija Pande, hat designer Kasher with her husband Jānis and many others also arrived. Yesterday, one of the most outstanding acoustic guitar masters in Latvia – Kaspars Zemītis – took care of the musical enjoyment.
Thinking about this exhibition, Gundega was inspired by a documentary about Fried Kalo. She was immediately fascinated by the saturated color palette in her works and the idea of ”Viva la Vida”, which is a very important work of art, as it is known to be the last painting by Frida Kalo.
In 1996, the artist Dūduma graduated from Janis Rozentāls Riga Art High School and went to study painting in Germany, as well as graduated from the Latvian Academy of Arts. Gundega has many solo exhibitions in Latvia, Russia and Germany, and her paintings can be found in many private collections around the world.
