In an opinion column in Israel HayomNetanyahu reiterated his criticism of Foreign Minister Yair Lapid for agreeing what he called “no surprises” with the United States in terms of countering Iran’s threats.

“What will happen if and when the US will return to the nuclear agreement? Does anyone think it would approve of an Israeli military action that would jeopardize the treaty?” wrote Netanyahu.
The opposition leader said his “friends” in the US expressed concern that Israel’s voice was not being heard in America against the Iran nuclear deal.
“The answer is simple. The surrendering government says clearly: ‘We will solve the problem with the US behind closed doors’,” Netanyahu wrote.
“Instead of speaking loud and clear to solicit American public opinion in favor of Israel and against a return to the nuclear deal, the current administration is doing nothing.”
Meanwhile, a source in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) Naftali Bennett said: “Netanyahu was prime minister for 12 years, until a month ago, and his neglect is what allowed Iran to reach the most advanced point in its nuclear program.”
Last week, Iran told the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) that it had taken steps to produce metallic uranium enriched up to 20% for use as reactor fuel. This takes Iran’s nuclear project to a more advanced stage than is known, which any country without nuclear weapons has achieved.
