Autocentro Baistrocchi sold to the Porsche group after 72 years

Autocentro Baistrocchi joins the Eurocar Italia group, a subsidiary of the Porsche Holding Group. The Baistrocchi family has in fact sold the historic dealership, opened in the 1950s, to the largest car distributor in Europe, which thus continues its growth path in Italy.
«The sale to the Eurocar Italia Group, namely Porsche Holding Salzburg, was one of the most important decisions we have taken in 72 years of activity – say Roberto, Liliana and Francesco Baistrocchi -. It was a choice as painful as it was reasoned. Never before as today are we facing a huge transformation of the automotive market. We have thus chosen to look ahead, once again deciding to entrust our companies and over 120 collaborators to a solid and international Group, which offers the best guarantees to face the ambitious challenges of the future ».
In 2020 Autocentro Baistrocchi Spa, which employs 120 people, delivered 3,650 new cars and 2,100 used cars, and generated a turnover of 131 million euros. The company, which operates from three offices in Parma and one in Fidenza, deals with the sale and assistance of the brands Volkswagen, Skoda, Seat, Audi, Porsche and Volkswagen commercial vehicles, Audi Prima Scelta Plus and Das Weltauto.
The transaction is subject to the approval of the European Antitrust authorities. But in the meantime, we are looking at future developments. “We are very pleased to acquire another successful dealership in Italy which, with four locations and excellent market performance, represents the brands of the Volkswagen Group – says Rainer Schroll, CEO of Porsche Holding for retail -. Autocentro Baistrocchi Spa is to be considered a strategic and functional acquisition for the further development of the dealer network of the Eurocar Italia Group. We will continue on the path traced by the Baistrocchi family to build a future of great satisfaction ».
Autocentro Baistrocchi was founded after the Second World War by Egisto Baistrocchi, a driver who participated in legendary races such as the Mille Miglia and Parma Poggio. The relationship of the Baistrocchi family with Volkswagen dates back to 1950: the first VW dealership in Italy was the Baistrocchi family. Collaboration with Porsche began in 1954, then extended to Audi in 1965 and Skoda in 1993. In 2019 the dealership celebrated 70 years of partnership with the Volkswagen Group, distinguishing itself as the company with the longest collaboration with the German group in Italy.
«We would like to thank with affection all our collaborators who have shared with us a journey that began in the 1950s, making it rich in passion, success and satisfaction – concludes the Baistrocchi family -. A special thanks to all our customers, who by choosing us for three generations have allowed us to realize our biggest dream. A dream destined to continue and that projects itself into the future stronger than before ».
