Union of Magistrates of the Public Prosecutor’s Office and Union of Disgruntled Judges
The statements made by Luís Filipe Vieira’s lawyer, Magalhães e Silva, on TVI caused discomfort with the presidents of the Union of Public Prosecutors, Adão e Silva, and the Association of Judges, Manuel Soares.
Magalhães e Silva is a member of the Superior Council of the Public Ministry and criticized the work of Rosário Teixeira, which, according to ‘Expresso’, rekindled the tension between lawyers and magistrates. For Adão Carvalho, Magalhães e Silva “cannot publicly pronounce on processes that are underway”. Manuel Soares argued, to the ‘Público’, that the lawyers who are part of the councils should suspend the exercise of the profession. The diary underlines that there is discomfort in the Bar Association.
