Multi-device without depending on the smartphone
For now, WhatsApp will limit access to this new feature to just a few users. Firstly it will only be accessible to those who are in the beta program of these mobile apps and even within this limited group it will only be accessible to a few.
Interestingly, this new aspect of WhatsApp cannot be used openly on all devices. The limit is set at 4 devices plus the user's smartphone. However, one of these new devices cannot be a smartphone.

Device security guaranteed
The delay in implementing this functionality will be associated with the need to guarantee the privacy and security of messages. Each device has its own encryption key, still managing to maintain synchronization between devices.
This is a novelty from WhatsApp that many have been waiting for for a long time. Finally, multi-device support will be publicly tested to ensure everything is fully functional and trouble-free, even with the smartphone turned off.
