Vaccination rate corona continues to rise

Six months after the start of the vaccination program against corona, almost 18 million vaccinations have been made. Of all over 18s, 77 percent have received at least one shot and 46 percent of them are fully vaccinated. The 60-64-year-old age group is largely vaccinated by general practitioners. Meanwhile, 87 percent of this group has received a first vaccination. There is also a significant increase in turnout among 12-17 year olds. This is reported by the RIVM.

In recent weeks, several parties have worked hard to register more and more vaccination data in the national registration system (CIMS). CIMS now contains sufficient data to also publish the vaccination coverage of 60-64 year olds. About 87 percent of this age group has received a first vaccination. Because only persons who give permission are registered in CIMS, the actual turnout will be higher than in the RIVM report, also in this age group.

Youngest age group

Since 2 July, 12 to 17-year-olds without medical risk can also make an appointment for a corona vaccination. Last Sunday, those born in the first half of 2009 were called upon to schedule a vaccination appointment. This means that all Dutch people from the age of 12 have the opportunity to make an appointment for vaccination. Meanwhile, 22 percent of 12 to 17-year-olds have had no first vaccination.

High attendance

Due to the high turnout for vaccination in the Netherlands, the turnout and vaccination rate have been further broken down from now on. This shows that in 134 of the 352 municipalities more than 95 percent of the over-65s have had at least one vaccination. In Amsterdam, the turnout in this age group has increased, so that it is now 85 percent or higher in all major cities.
