JAKARTA, iNews.id – Phenomenon astronomy endless. In the second week of July 2021 will there be a number of astronomical phenomenon which is no less interesting than before.
According to records EIGHT uploaded on the Instagram account, at least 4 astronomical phenomena will occur in this second week. Anything? Here’s more.
1. Aphelion Mars (13 July)
Mars will reach its farthest point from the Sun (aphelion) at 08:36 WIB with a distance of 249.2 million km. Mars has only been observed since 18:40 WIB from the west-northwest for 60 minutes with a magnitude of +1.83.
Mars ‘orbit, which is longer than Earth’s orbit, makes Mars’ aphelion 10.5% longer than the average distance from Mars to the Sun. Aphelion Mars occurs on average once every 687 days.
2. The sun over the Kaaba (15 July)
This phenomenon, also called istiwa’ul A’zham (great culmination), occurs when the declination of the Sun is equal to the geographical latitude of the Kaaba. Until noon, the Sun was right above the Kaaba.
This phenomenon can be used to check the Qibla direction in Indonesia, except for parts of Maluku Province, Tual City, Southwest Maluku Regency and Kep.Aru Regency, and West Papua Province and Papua Province.
The peak of this phenomenon occurred at 16.26 WIB / 17.26 WITA / 18.26 WIT.
