Juventus extinguish rumors about Ronaldo’s future

Asked by DAZN on Wednesday, Pavel Nedved, vice-president of Juventus swept the transfer rumors surrounding Cristiano Ronaldo, on whom he is counting for the resumption.

For now, Cristiano Ronaldo is quietly enjoying his holidays in Greece with his partner, after a Euro 2021 which he finished as top scorer. But, in a few days, the Portuguese striker will have to make a decision about his future. For now, despite rumors in the Italian press sending him to Manchester United or Paris Saint-Germain, he is still under contract until June 2022 with Juventus and the Turin leaders are counting on him for the return to school.

Asked this Wednesday by DAZN, Pavel Nedved, vice-president of the Old Lady, notably assured that “no one in the entourage of Cristiano Ronaldo” had informed them of his intention to leave. “We are expecting him to return from vacation on July 25, so he will be with us,” he added. With Serie A only resuming on August 22, CR7 should make its comeback normally.

Locatelli will wait

Statements that agree with what Federico Cherubini, the club’s sporting director, had said two weeks earlier. “We are very happy with him, he explained at a press conference. He is a central player in our project.” For his part, Ronaldo had assured not to be impacted by the rumors around his departure. “I’ve been playing at the top level for 18 years. It doesn’t tickle me anymore, the Portuguese said in June. If I was 18 or 19, maybe that would prevent me from sleeping. But there, at 36 years…”

Nedved also took the opportunity to talk about the case of Manuel Locatelli, the midfielder of Sassuolo, whose rating increased significantly after a brilliant Euro with Squadra Azzurra and who has been on his shelves for a while. “He is on vacation and it was not good to talk about it with him during the Euro,” Nedved recalled. “We will have time to discuss this with Sassuolo.” Obviously, the discussions are already advanced, since the president of the selling club, Giovanni Carnevali, assured that he had already received an “important” offer from Juventus for his player.
