New American tanks will replace the outdated T-72 and PT-91. In Poland they say that they adhere to the principle “if you want peace, prepare for war.”
Poland buys 250 American M1A2 Abrams tanks in the new SEPv3 version. This was stated by the head of the ruling Polish party Law and Justice, Deputy Prime Minister Jaroslaw Kaczynski on Wednesday, July 14.
“We have good news. Our army will soon be enriched with a large number of the world’s most advanced M1A2 Anrams SEPv3 tanks. This is a new quality of weapons for the Ground Forces,” said Kaczynski.
According to him, there will be enough tanks to create at least four tank battalions.
“We adhere to the principle“ if you want peace, prepare for war. ”Well, we want peace, but in case of misfortune, our defense will be stronger,” added Kaczynski.
At the same time, the first deliveries of new tanks are expected in 2022. They will replace the outdated T-72 and slightly newer PT-91 Twardy.
